Sympathy Flowers
Arrangements to send to a grieving person — at their home or the family’s. Tributes for the service itself are on the funeral flowers page.
No same-day filter. Florist One's product feed carries no delivery-speed field, so we cannot tell you here which of these can arrive today. Delivery dates are offered by Florist One at checkout for your ZIP code. We would rather leave the filter out than guess it.

About sympathy flowers
These are for the bereaved rather than for the service — arrangements sent to a family's home, where somebody has to find room for them among everything else arriving that week. Tributes designed for the funeral itself are on the funeral flowers page, and the two are genuinely different things.
What these cost
Estimated delivered totals in this category run from $94.94 to $334.94, with a median of $124.94 — 64 of the 137 cost less than that. Across 137 arrangements there are 22 distinct totals, so the range is genuinely continuous rather than a few price points repeated. By band: under $119.94, 63; $119.94 – $154.94, 30; $154.94 and up, 44. Every one of those figures already includes Florist One's flat $19.99 delivery and service charge.
Delivery
- These go to a home, where somebody is in and deliveries are being taken all week. That is a much easier delivery than a funeral home with a fixed service time.
- There is no deadline to miss. If the first week is crowded, choosing a date a fortnight out is a deliberate and often better choice.
How to choose
- Send to the home, not the funeral home, unless you have been told otherwise. Anything delivered to a service is handled by the funeral director and seen for an hour.
- Arrangements that arrive in their own container are kinder than a wrapped bouquet. Most of this category is exactly that — table arrangements and baskets — so nobody is hunting for a vase during a bad week.
- The larger pieces here reach about 45 inches. For a side table or a kitchen counter, something nearer the 20-inch median is easier to place.
- Put your full name on the card. In a week of deliveries from people the family only half knows, “with love from Jane” is a puzzle nobody has the energy to solve.
Common questions
- Should I send to the family's home or the funeral home?
- The home, in most cases. Anything sent to a service is seen briefly and then has to be dealt with by someone. Send to a service only if the family has asked for it.
- When is it too late?
- It is not. The visits and deliveries stop abruptly after the first week or two, and something arriving after that is often more welcome, not less.
- Arrangement or bouquet?
- An arrangement in its own container. A wrapped bouquet needs a vase, water and trimming from someone who has other things to do.
- What should I write?
- Something plain and specific. Naming the person who died, and one concrete thing about them, is worth more than a formal condolence.
- The family asked for donations instead of flowers. Should I still send some?
- Follow what they asked for. If you want to do both, the donation is the part they requested.

How we calculate this estimate
- The bouquet price comes straight from the Florist One feed — we never mark it up.
- We add Florist One's delivery and service charge, currently $19.99. They publish it as one combined figure, so it cannot be split into two lines.
- The sum is an estimated total. Sales tax, and any surcharge for a specific date, address or same-day service, is added by Florist One at checkout.
- FlowerDeals adds nothing, and a florist cannot pay to rank higher.
